National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW) is an important time to Kenworth Sales. We understand and value the difficult job truck drivers have. That is why we felt we needed to show our thanks by participating in this year’s NTDAW.
“These drivers have such an important job to our nation and as a country we don’t always show them the appreciation they deserve,” says Ric Petersen, Kenworth Sales Spokane District Manager. “We were honored to be a small part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week this year.”
Employees from the Kenworth Sales in Spokane participated in the Port-of-Entry’s event on Wedensday. Bill Pancoast, Outside Service Sales; Jaycob Keiser, Part Sales; & Shane Petersen, Truck Sales; helped in handing out 350 gift bags to truck drivers as they went through the port going east bound out of Spokane into Idaho.
“I’m glad I was able to come out and let these men and women know that we appreciate what they do,” said Keiser. “They sacrifice every day and we tend to take it for granted. It was nice to break that mold in a small way.”
These employees had a great time talking with and expressing appreciation for the drivers’ hard work and dedication and were met with a warm response from the drivers.
“Our purpose in being there was to let the drivers know how much Kenworth Sales appreciates them and what they do,” Ric Petersen later said. “To be away from their homes and families, sometimes for weeks at a time, is very stressful and our employees wanted to thank those drivers and express our hope for their safe return to their families.”
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, September 9-15, 2018, is when America takes the time to honor all professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in tackling one of our economy’s most demanding and important jobs. These 3.5 million professional men and women not only deliver our goods safely, securely and on time, they also keep our highways safe.
