Hughes General Contractors is heading up the project with the help of a number of local subcontractors. Alliance Consulting is the local engineer and design is by NBW Architects.

“It is important to us to use local businesses in this project,” Kyle Treadway, President of Kenworth Sales Company, said. “We want to support and work with our neighbors in an effort to be good contributors to the community today and moving forward.”

75 years ago Kyle’s grandparents began dreaming of starting their own business. They hoped that as World War II came to an end, and the country moved its focus to rebuilding a post-war economy, trucking would be a key part of that effort. And the crossroads of commercial transportation in the west was in Utah. The idea took root and with a lot of hard work, the 3-person team: Kyle’s grandparents and father, launched Kenworth Sales Company in 1945.

3 generations and over 7 decades, their dream has grown to 22 locations in 7 western states with over 800 employees. Kenworth Sales is still based in Utah and we are excited to be building our first permanent home in St. George.Men in hard hats posing behind a rendering of the new Kenworth Sales St. George building

“We’ve been serving this community for decades, and are proud of the relationships we’ve built with our customers, employees, suppliers and the region.” Kyle said at the groundbreaking. “Southern Utah remains a vital crossroads for commercial transportation. The nation relies on our industry to move America 365 days a year.”

This new facility is designed to help our customers meet that need, and contribute to this growing economy. From the jobs created with this construction project, to the ongoing sales, repair and servicing of local, regional and national carriers, we are planting ourselves here for the long haul. The southern Utah desert is blooming, and we’re here to do our part in nurturing that garden.

Thank you to Nelson Bodily & Associates for the architectural skills, Hughes Construction, the general contractor, our local management team, and the valued contractors who join us as we formally start our project.
